They have surpassed natural fibers as the dominant fiber used worldwide. Certainly they offer us a lot - freedom from ironing, waterproofing, wicking, and other 'performance' driven attributes. But what is the true cost of these conveniences? Smita will discusses how the fashion industry has access to over 8000 chemicals with very little oversight and the potential consequences of this. This session will bring awareness to the important factors to consider when choosing which fabrics you will use. It will cover different finishes and what chemicals are behind them and the impact it has on the environment as well as the individual wearing the product. Seminar Fee $15
